“And he said, the Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer. The God of my rock, in him will I trust, he is my shield, the horn of my salvation, my high tower and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.” 2 Samuel 22: 2-3.
When storms come raging, when waters come as flood, when the cool breeze suddenly becomes a tornado. Life seems to turn around, and it seems like the whole world is against you. When people you hold dear turn their backs on you for a reason you really can’t even explain. You would want to lose trust in yourself and your destiny. Hold on, isn’t that what the enemy wants you to do, to use the things you hold dear against you, your family, friends and whatever. Remember Job, he lost it all, one thing he didn’t lose was his heart in God. No, he didn’t lose heart. “Wait on the Lord, be of good cheer and he will strengthen your heart. Wait I say, wait on the Lord”. Psalms 27:14. The Egyptians that the Israelites were so full of fear for, became history to them. Its a matter of time. It came and will surely pass.
David was confronted with a battle against his own flesh and blood, a man of valor turned a fleeing king, his host and most cherished advicer were participants in the team “kill King David”. He overcame with God’s help. Several other people were faced with likely situation; Joseph, Daniel, even Jesus Christ, so you see “You are not alone”. The God Jehovah who saved them is still on the throne.
The best thing to do at times like this is to take your stand under the mightiest fortress of Jehovah the mighty man in battle. At times like this the Bible is the best companion, He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, Ps 91:1. At the end of the tunnel there is light. Weeping may endure for a night, Joy comes in the morning.
The name of Jesus saves, heals, delivers.Hallelujah.
